The basics
Fonbet charges no fees on deposits or withdrawals. The methods are the Greek market’s standard ones — cards, IRIS, Revolut, e-wallets, Paysafecard, bank transfer — and all of them, except bank transfer, credit a deposit in seconds. On withdrawals Fonbet is one of the fastest operators on a Greek licence: in our four tests the average time from request to Revolut was 5 hours.
Deposits
| Method | Time | Minimum | Max / transaction | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard (debit, credit) | Instant | €5 | €5,000 | 3D Secure; some banks block credit cards for gambling |
| IRIS | Instant | €5 | €500/day (IRIS limit) | From your bank’s app, no card details |
| Revolut | Instant | €5 | €10,000 | Via Revolut card or Revolut Pay |
| Skrill / Neteller | Instant | €10 | €10,000 | The wallet may charge its own fee |
| Paysafecard | Instant | €10 | €1,000 | Anonymous prepaid; withdrawal to IBAN |
| Bank transfer | 1 working day | €20 | €50,000 | Quote the reference code Fonbet gives you |
Deposits are always from an account/card in your name — a deposit from a third party’s card is rejected or locks the account. Fonbet allows credit cards, but some Greek banks block MCC 7995 (gambling) transactions on credit cards — use a debit card or IRIS.
Withdrawals
| Method | Fonbet approval | Credit time | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revolut | 0–4 hours | 2–8 hours | €10 | €10,000/day |
| Skrill / Neteller | 0–4 hours | Up to 24 hours | €10 | €10,000/day |
| Visa / Mastercard | 0–4 hours | 1–2 working days | €10 | €5,000/day |
| IBAN (IRIS, transfer, Paysafecard) | 0–4 hours | 1–3 working days | €20 | €50,000/month |
Requirements: completed verification, no active bonus with open rollover, the withdrawal method must have been used for a deposit (closed loop). The first withdrawal is always checked manually; subsequent ones up to €1,000 are usually approved automatically within minutes.
Cancellation: while a withdrawal is “Pending” you can cancel it and the money returns to your balance immediately. Careful — it’s the most common way to “re-play” winnings you had decided to withdraw. If you recognise that pattern, Fonbet lets you disable withdrawal cancellation from the responsible gaming menu.
Winnings tax
The tax is the state’s (Law 4002/2011 as amended) and the same at every licensed operator. Fonbet withholds it automatically — you declare nothing on your tax return.
| Net profit | Rate |
|---|---|
| €0 – €100 | 0% |
| €100.01 – €500 | 7.5% (on the whole) |
| €500.01+ | 20% (on the whole) |
In the casino the basis is the session: from login to logout (or 24 hours, whichever first), net result = winnings − stakes. Example: log in with €50, play, log out with €180 → profit €130 → 7.5% tax = €9.75 → €170.25 credited. In sports betting the basis is the slip.
Practical consequence: the casino with sessions is taxed more “gently” than many think — small profits per session stay below the €100 threshold.
Source-of-funds check (AML)
For cumulative withdrawals above €2,000 (or deposits above €10,000) Fonbet may ask for proof of income — tax statement, payslip, bank statement. It’s an obligation under the AML directive and the HGC, not the company’s choice. The check takes 1–3 working days; the withdrawal is frozen until it’s completed.
Security
Card payments go through 3D Secure 2 (confirmation in your bank’s app). Card details are stored tokenized (PCI DSS) — Fonbet never sees the full number. Player balances are held in a separate account from operating funds, as the HGC licence requires.
